Transition Agility™ Training for Leaders and High-Performing Teams.

What Transition Agility™ Actually Means
Transition Agility™ is the measurable capacity to move through change, career, identity, role, system, without losing performance, retention, or trust.
It's built on two things. The internal work of processing what you're leaving, Emotional Agility. And the applied work of deciding and acting inside what comes next, Transition Agility™ itself.
Most people have practiced neither, because most of their lives were organized by systems that did the deciding for them. Then the system ends, and they're handed the full weight of self-authorship all at once, with no map and no training.
That's the gap HumanWorks™ closes.
Witness
The Piece Most Change Models Skip
Most change models focus on the mechanics: the before, the after, the stages, the curve. They almost never ask the most human question: who saw you while you crossed?
Witness is not advice. It's not fixing. It's the act of letting someone be fully seen in what they're going through, without rushing them to the other side. In the HumanWorks™ Model, witness is a distinct human capacity, and building it into how an organization operates is what makes transformation actually stick, instead of just getting survived.
High-agency people build non-fragile companies.
Technology and change are moving too fast for most teams to keep pace, and most companies still try to manage change instead of building the capacity to move through it. At HumanWorks™, we build Transition Agility™: the core human competency for navigating constant change without losing performance, retention, or trust. When people take back personal and professional agency, teams decide faster, align quicker, and create more value with less drama.
We build the architecture for what most change models skip: the human.
Reduce burnout.
Your talent is not underperforming, it is underempowered. We teach people to reclaim choice, own decisions, and turn uncertainty into action. The result: cleaner execution, tighter collaboration, fewer fire drills.
Strengthen decision-making.
Trauma-literate performance replaces fear with practice. We install simple, repeatable rituals for managers and teams that make agency a daily habit. Standards stay high. Avoidance and rework drop. Speed, quality, and retention rise.
Why This Moment Is Different
AI is not another software rollout. It is compressing change cycles that used to take years into months, which means the transitions people used to face once or twice in a career are now recurring every few quarters, for everyone, at every level.
Companies are trying to solve this the way they solve every other rollout: better training, clearer policy, a rollout plan. That approach treats AI like a tool. It is behaving like a new member of the team, one nobody has decided how to welcome.
Emotional Agility and Transition Agility™ are not the same thing, and the difference matters more now than it used to. Emotional Agility is the capacity to sit with discomfort and name what you actually feel. Transition Agility™ is what gets built on top of it: the applied capacity to actually move, decide, and act inside the change, not just tolerate it.
Organizations that already know how to integrate something new into the culture, the ones with strong ERGs, veteran hiring practices, and onboarding built around belonging, are the ones best positioned to integrate AI well. The skill transfers. Most companies don't realize they already have it.

What leaders notice first
What leaders notice when agency returns to the work: faster decisions, steadier managers, and teams that execute under pressure.
Sara’s ability to connect with participants and convey complex concepts in a relatable manner made her sessions highly effective.
Her efforts contributed to a reduction in turnover rates among veteran employees in certain positions, highlighting the impact of her work on organizational stability and employee satisfaction.

I partnered with Sara to bring the "Be Billy" session internally; I left the session with a deeper understanding of how to build stronger teams that lift each other, and have practical skills that can apply to leadership, collaboration, and every aspect of our work. Be Billy is a session that truly elevates cultural competence and leadership impact, The real-world scenarios and emotional storytelling to reflect a specific journey to life were presented in a way that was both eye-opening and relatable!

Working with Sara was a turning point during my career transition from the military to civilian life. As a Marine officer, I’ve had the privilege of serving with extraordinary people, but Sara brought something different—an unwavering ability to connect, empathize, relate, and champion on my behalf. Her unique coaching style blended insight through high emotional intelligence and structure with purpose.
Through our purpose-driven conversations, Sara helped me recognize strengths I’d been underusing and guided me toward a future I hadn’t fully envisioned for myself. This may have been the hardest period of my life, even harder than becoming a Marine. Sara didn’t make the process easier—she made it manageable, more grounded, and ultimately more successful.

Why HumanWorks
Sara B. McNamara, MSOD, founded HumanWorks™ on research she conducted at Pepperdine (a 131-person study on personal agency during military-to-civilian transition) and on what she saw building the first DoD SkillBridge program at Camp Pendleton in 2016. That work became a core insight behind Transition Agility™:
The veteran hasn't lost competence, they've lost the arena that competence was built for.
The same pattern shows up anywhere a person or team is asked to perform in a new arena before they've been equipped for it, which is why the framework now applies well beyond military transition, to any leader or team facing constant change.
